Trigger pull distance affects how far your finger must move before a game responds to the input. For firing controls, shorter trigger travel can create a faster, crisper physical action with less movement between pressing and releasing.
The less physical movement required to cross the firing threshold, the sooner your finger can activate and release the control. Digital click triggers take this further by replacing the long analogue pull with a short tactile switch.

What Is Trigger Pull Distance?
Trigger pull distance is the physical distance an Xbox controller trigger moves between its resting and fully pressed positions. Standard triggers have a relatively long movement because they are designed to provide progressive analogue control.
For an action such as firing a weapon, the important distance is how far the trigger must move before its value crosses the activation threshold used by the game.
Resting Position
The trigger begins at its released position with no input applied.
Initial Movement
An analogue trigger begins changing its reported value as it moves.
Activation Threshold
The game performs the assigned action once its required value is reached.
Full Press
The trigger reaches the end of its available analogue range.

Analogue Travel vs Firing Activation
A standard trigger does not remain electrically inactive throughout its entire movement. It reports a changing analogue value as it travels.
In a racing game, that changing value can control progressive throttle or braking. In a shooter, the game normally treats aiming or firing as a digital action once the trigger crosses a set threshold.
Shortening trigger travel does not make the controller electronics or internet connection faster. It reduces the physical finger movement required to activate the command.

Are Short Triggers Suitable for Racing Games?
Digital click triggers are not suitable when a game requires progressive throttle or braking because they operate as on-or-off controls.
Switchable trigger stops can be turned off to restore full trigger movement, but X-Mods does not currently offer trigger stops. Retain standard analogue triggers if racing compatibility is important to your controller.
